^ It's a good thing that you are here to put a stop to or at least curtail these injustices.

Are you sure that the focus on Korea is not a result of this being a board for ESL teachers in Korea? You aren't getting off topic here because that stuff is relevant, but the assumptions you are making about people that are upset about racist things that happen in Korea are actually pretty offensive. You don't know how the posters on here would react to that type of behavior, and it's unfair for you to make that kind of a judgement.

The proof is in the pudding. When an Asian-American posts about facing discrimination you don't see the same people coming out of the woodwork. When someone posts something offensive or bigoted about Koreans, many of those who scream 'Korean racism' the loudest are silent. It's like certain figures and their supporters back home who will go ballistic over any anti-black slight, but when it comes to reverse racism, will be nowhere to be seen.

You need to name names, because I have no idea who you are talking about. From what I see now you just seem to throw this out there whenever people get upset at racism in Korea. I know some members on the forum are overtly biased and angry towards Koreans in general, and are racist as well. Your comments and accusations are too broad though, and I find them offensive.

I think more 'interbreeding' is needed, so we all become one 'race', like in South Park.

South Park has the answers to all of society ills.

Well, there's always the list of banned posters. Look over on the one thread about the abused dog and see what someone wrote. There's also posters who may have made a bigoted post or two, but I won't go and label them bigots. That's like labeling someone who gets in one bar fight in college a "violent sociopath". I think I can make the general assertion without having to go through the dreck of naming names.

Where does one see this list of banned posters? Just name names and stop skirting the issue with the "I think" and "look at this thread" talk.

At the top of the GD forum stickies. In addition to the banned posters there have been times where the mods issued on-thread warnings.

Do you want me to go and dredge up every single offensive post that's contained bigoted remarks on Dave's? That would be a Herculean task. Or are you so oblivious to what happens that you think it doesn't exist on this board?

Every thread? no. The thread you are posting in? Yeah give us some names. If you are going to try to end the discussion by calling anyone speaking against racism in Korea a hypocritical, bigoted, biased, racist, then I think you should back it up. That isn't something you just throw around non chalantly. So tell us who you are talking about here, in this specific thread. I think you owe that to the people you have accused of being racist.

No, I obviously don't expect you to dredge up every single post that has offended you (and possibly/probably others). What I would like is for you to just call out the people by name that you have in mind since you brought it up if it is bothering you so much. You wouldn't have made that post if you didn't have a short list handy.

I didn't say anyone, I said some posters.

If you want an example, here now on the Nashville's Thread, user RalphWinfield

Some of my worst and best memories of Korea are from Nashille's! The owner was quick to remember me years after I met him. Good tunes were found on his jukebox! The burgers were alright as wll, and it was too bad the racist crap that was done to him when his business was closed for about 6 weeks for having some cinnamon he bought in the U.S.. That was sort of big news at that time. It was the epitome of a Kimberley pulling a notorious Korea Sparkling move on a white guy.

Complaining about racism while using an obviously demeaning slur to refer to Koreans.

And no one really objecting to that. Now can you imagine if I had used some derogatory term to refer to caucasian NETs?

Are you serious? Kimberley is a slang term that has nothing to do with Koreans.

A) Kimberley doesn't refer to Koreans
B) Kimberley is not a derogatory term

I'm guessing that he had no idea about that, yet he typed out a response as if he knew exactly ("obviously demeaning referring to Ks") what it meant. Weird.

I don't know either, so to what does a Kimberley refer? I was under the impression it was just a typical female name.

I don't have a problem with a lot of the stuff he says (a lot - not all), but someone who goes out of their way to find malice where none exists is nothing but paranoid or a cynic.

He would probably get offended if a non-Asian ordered yellowtail at a sushi bar Rolling Eyes

Forgive me if I am wrong, but I thought Kimberley was previously used on these forums to demean and emasculate Korean men. Or it could be a reference to Kimberley street in Hong Kong.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kimberley_Street
