|
|
Sorry for starting a new thread when I'm pretty sure the info is out there, but the search function (even via Google) is not helpful for something this specific with words that hit so many other topics.
What I'm wondering is if you are able to do a return trip on your 30 day E2 grace period without an extension or a switch to the D10.
If you're on the last 30 days of your E2, will they consider you leaving the country to be the end of your visa, even if you plan to come back and look for a job?
I know it could all be avoided by just getting the D10, but I think that's about 120,000 that I'd rather not spend if I don't have to.
Thanks. |

You can travel out of and into Korea for as long as your ARC is valid. I have and many others on this forum also have.
Do you expect to have a new job set up before you travel? Or do you plan to search for a job when you return to Korea? If it's the second option then you don't have much time before your ARC expires and you must leave Korea. The D10 would be better in that case. That would give you 6 months to travel and find a new job.
You can get the 'non-working' 30-day extension on your ARC/E2 but you need to show proof that you are leaving Korea within those 30 days, ie a plane/ferry ticket. I don't think an E2 is transferable during this time so it would be of no use to you. |

If you are within your allowed period of the E2 (ARC not expired) then you are free to come and go. You can transfer to a new job within that period.
If you are on the EXTRA 30 days (tourist status) that you can extend AFTER your ARC expires then no. If you want to change jobs then you need a new visa. If you exit you will return as a tourist.
