Okay. I have a friend in Japan. He wants to come over here to teach, but the recruiter he's dealing with says it's a no - go unless he gets a criminal background check from his home country. He does not really have time to go back home. The position starts in about a month.

Is there any way around this problem?

Many thanks.

No, he has to get the criminal background check, and this takes time. The quickest way is to go in person in your home country.

So, either he can stay in Japan and try to get someone to help on the other end or go back home.
