I have been at a hogwan for under two weeks. If this situation does not work out, will I be able to get a D10 visa without an arc card? How will I have to go about getting another job in Korea?

Usually you need a Letter Of Release from your employer if you want to quit and transfer to a new job or get a D10. But because you have not been to immigration yet I am not sure. Call 1345(immigration) , you have nothing to lose by asking this question.

Why is your hagwon so bad?

IF (really big IF there) you can get a letter of release (your employer is under NO obligation to give one) then you have 30 days to transfer to a new employer.

IF you cannot get a LOR then you will be leaving the country and will effectively be unemployable in Korea for the next year.

China, Japan, Vietnam and Taiwan have similar (net after expenses) pay levels.

Your other options would be to:
a) stick it out long enough to earn some cash to cover your out of pocket expenses and move elsewhere (out of Korea).
b) stick it out and see if it gets better. (my first 2 weeks in Korea were a horror (at least in my mind) and had me wondering what the heII I thought I was doing 1/2 way round the planet. The reality after I settled in wasn't so bad.)
C) call home and ask for help to buy a plane ticket back to the States and leave ASAP since you won't see any paydays if you tell them you are leaving.

.

I have already been let go. I worked for 3 days and had a feeling that I would be fired. I have been told that I will work for the next month then will receive a letter of release.
I have not gotten my arc card.

I would love to stay here in korea. I really like my job, other than this one person.

So i am checking my options.
