It was interesting reading someone's opinion who obviously knows more than me about advertising. I agreed wth him about having Bulgogi as the largest word and the colour scheme. To me the meat itself looks nothing special. Just like generic meat and the fact that there's nothing much else on the plate might put a few Westerners off. Even with my limited knowledge or interest in the field I can see it's not a great effort.

On the other hand, it's hard for me to be particularly upset that an advertisement was insufficiently laden with psychological ploys.

How many people in the west would look at that and wonder, "Is that dog meat?" Probably more than a few.

I don't think anyone would seriously think it's dog meat, but some will definitely joke that it's dog meat.

Actually, you'd be surprised how many people know Koreans eat dog meat. Sure, it's not as well known as the cat found in Chinese food, but it's on the radar.

Anyone else find it odd that it was in the New York Times? He lives and works in Texas for a Texas team; why not put it in a Texas newspaper?

I'm being facetious of course- I know that Koreans are obsessed with New York as if it's the only city in the country. I just always find that odd.
