Hey, I have a Canadian 3DS with a North American adapter. Do I need to buy a step down converter to charge it or can I just use an adapter for the plug?

I have an American charger and don't need anything special apart from the basic plug adapter

Really? I was using a converter this entire time because the ds charger only said 110V. I didn't want to risk frying my nintendods.
