There is still room for debate, but it's as good an explanation as any I've heard...

The video is 8:32 minutes long and the guy breaks down the final scene.

http://www.ebaumsworld.com/video/watch/83418027/

I personally agree with his take, but also agree with a few of the commenters, especially this one:

"that makes a lot of sense, but for the love of God, why make it so friggin cryptic??? We all aren't movie insiders with intelligent takes on camera angle and its importance....and WHO was thinking about 3 seasons back while watching this ending?? LOL...I LOVED this show. I don't care what anyone ever said about it, it was fantastic to watch and that ending infuriated me. THIS explanation makes sense and ill keep it with me as what happened. NOW....to go but the whole thing and watch it over with this wonderful new information..... "

That's the right explanation.

It most probably is.

I still like to leave a little room for thought, that it was the audience dying, not him - just because I loved his character so much, rather than logic.

No problem.

So, what do you think? Do you agree with his take?

^^Yes, I agree with it. I wish the video posted had shown a flashback to the members jacket in the "Members Only" episode he sited - because now I'm curious. But it does make sense. I sort of wish he'd lived though, sort of sad.

The last few episodes of the series just flew by with main characters dying. I didn't have time to think about it. I think I need to watch the last season again so as to better understand the ending.

well people are still talking about it, aren't they? david chase had repeatedly complained how audiences need to be spoon fed and i guess he refused to play along.

david chase once said of tony that he knew he was a bad guy and loved being it, but i disagree; sociopaths like the gang never see themselves as bad. tony himself said to dr malfi, i'm a soldier and soldiers go to heaven.

I did not like that ending.

We all wanted to watch that psycho pig Tony get popped. Right?

You're welcome, but that is not actually my quote - it's a quote from the comment section associated with the link about the final show.

I read this a few years ago on probably the same guy's website. It makes sense to me.

I thought Sopranos was always about how dangerous the allure of the charismatic sociopath is. He didn't have hidden depth or any 'good' side at all really. I thought the final season showed that well but it would have been better if he had lived in a way.

So can someone spell it out for me, did he get whacked in the family restaurant by the guy coming out of the men's washroom?

Someone in the gang said, "You never see it coming. You never feel a thing."

Something along those lines, right?

So did Tony get popped while at the table with his family?

That is what the guy who did that video is suggesting, and I tend to agree with his take. But I think everyone needs to decide for themselves.

Yeah, I read that a year ago maybe. At the time, however, I wasn't really clear when I watched it. I guess that's up to the viewer whether he was killed or not.

Anyone watch Sons of Anarchy?

I hope Jackson and his mom get filled with lead. They are monsters. If they are allowed to live at the end of the series after all of the terrible things they've done to people, I'll be really disappointed.
