A/ Do immigration keep a copy of the LOR? (they gave mine back to me).

B/ Do Immi. contact your old school to clarify that they gave/authorised a LOR? (as opposed to - do they care?)

Thank you

Do not know if they keep a copy? They likely will make a copy.

The chances of school being contacted is high. Even at times with the letter they will often try making a call.

If you satisfied your year contract and want to apply for a D10, do you still need a LOR? I have a somewhat interesting situation, can explain more why a LOR might be difficult if necessary.

Yes, you need a LOR for a D-10. As far as I know, there are no exceptions.

I think a copy of your contract may suffice.

I didn't actually need to show much of anything, but I could have gotten the lazy immigration officer just by the luck of the draw.

No bank statement, no rental agreement, no LOR/contract. Just the two forms (that one form you need for pretty much everything at immigration + the plans for looking for work form) and payment.

No you don't. You finish your contract you are in the clear. You just need to pay around 100 000 to change visa + 30 000 for a new ARC card. Fill out a job seeking plan form, and the change of visa status form, bring a new picture, your old contract, ARC card, Passport and your good.
