Hello all. I started a thread asking about the dating experiences of teachers in China on the off-topic China forum and it has been, let us say, interesting. Perhaps even fruitful, if occasionally heated. Basically, I just asked about the dating scene there, and we were off to the races, so I'll ask the same here. Maybe this has been covered before, but given the reaction there, I would say it was a new topic on that forum. Please chime in. Male, female, whichever way you roll, dating locals, other teachers, have at it. If its related to esl teachers and romance, it's fair game. Seems its a hot/touchy subject and there's plenty to say and learn for all. I guess I'll leave it at this for now. Let's see what happens. Oh, and let's play nice. I learned in Kindy that if you don't have something nice to say, don't say anything. There's room for different perspectives and preferences and there's no need for personal attacks. Ok?

Well, he has this friend who wants to know. That's why he is asking. He's asking for a friend. Like, I have this friend who slept with a prostitute and now my friend has an itching problem in the groin area. Does anyone know a good STD doctor near the green-line area where my friend can go and get treatment because the itching is becoming unbearable. Hurry, please reply soon! I will be standing by for your reply! My friend is desperately in need of help!

I am no longer married, and my kids are grown, but thanks for asking. See?? Why does it always get personal. I directly implied the gay teachers to express their experiences too, but I'm not gay, and for female teachers as well, but I'm male. Why are people so negative? Why should my situation, which you don't know, matter? You obviously think you did your homework, but got an F anyway. I'll accept your apology when offered, just fyi. It's just a topic of conversation that has hit 12 pages in a few days over there, so I thought it would be interesting to extend it here, as I am considering Korea as well. Damn.

Maybe because it is a subject that has been covered to death here on this board. I realize the search function is pretty bad, but you might want to give it a shot anyway.

And I mentioned that too, that maybe it was covered, but new people come, people have new experiences and maybe it would be worth revisiting. If you disagree, I invite you NOT to post a reply. If you're so off put to have to reply to a post that has been covered, then why reply? Can't resist the temptation to make derogatory remarks? What does that say?

We here on Dave's ESL are the prime example of the dating pool in Korea. The cream of the crop. The in group. The high society crowd. If you don't find us charming, you surely won't find much interest in those non posting losers.

just google "Korean girlfriend", "K-gal", or "Korean women" and you'll only have about 2 billion thread pages in your face. Wink

Personally I don't particularly like Korean or Taiwanese women. Too self- centred. Chinese and Japanese are way more fun.

Ah, I see what you mean. I guess I assumed, given the vigorous response on the China forum, that it hadn't been beat to death here. Guess I was wrong. My bad. Disregard I suppose.

Man, making an ass out of yourself with all your assumptions. Haha. I'm 41, so not so old, not fat, not bald, and not interested in young girls. How did you come to that conclusion? So, enlighten us as to why I'm not married. Please. This should be rich. Next, would you clue me in to the next powerball numbers? What's it like thinking you can divine stuff you can't possibly know? They have treatment for that kind of stuff. Seek help. Acknowleding you have a problem is the first step to recovery.

Let's see now. You come on here asking about dating but you are not interested in dating. Writing a book or just looking for conversation?

I said I'm not interested in dating "young" girls, addressing Sherlock's comment about "old" creepy guy chasing young girls. I'm not that old and I'm not seeking significantly younger women. In fact, I'm not "seeking" women, per se, but obviously it happens and is a topic of interest. Only a few of you have responded, so I don't want to generalize based on these replys, but it's interesting just how negative the vide is here. I always saw so much complaining about Korea on these forums, and I am starting to think, maybe, the problem isn't Korea, but just some Debbie Downers who have nothing better to do than flame people for fun. I'm mean way more than in the other country forums. If you're so offended or annoyed by this or any thread, why do you take the time to engage in it? Go on your superior way and go in peace.

I could have misunderstood. So I will try to help you out. 41 can actually be a good age for dating here. There are a reasonable amount of young women in the 36-46ish range. Now a lot of Korean men will pass on these women because they are beyond the early 30 mark. But nothing wrong with these women. Some have decided to study longer and others happened to not fall in the marriage desperation trap. I think a guy who can pull from the mid 30 to mid 40 pool has good opportunities. Actually, it's probably the most level headed and mature age group. And many of the 40 year olds will still look like she is 32 and will still be very active.
