| Thanks Nester. Good to see someone be constructive, actually read what I wrote, and offer something positive. Seriously, thx Nester. Both for your advice and for being friendly. People could learn something from you. Maybe my mother taught me to take manners too seriously, or some of yours didn't. |

Soooo...what kind of girl interests you? I have one in mind, but she lives and works in San Diego, has her own excellent income, travels to Korea six or seven times a year, and is HOT. Her ex-husband is a no good pos Korean-American that left her to start a business in Korea. It's been a few years now, and she's been dating, but nothing serious. She's an American citizen, born and raised in Korea. She's about 36, no kids.
Speak up man. |

| Not sure how to take that ask question. Uh, nice girls? Doesn't need to be Korean, or Asian, white, black, green, striped. I'm open. I didn't ask this question to make it about me. I wanted to hear your opinions and experiences. At this point I'm sorry I even asked. Weird. |

Here is my constructive offer...
You should actually read what you wrote on this forum, and you will understand why you come across as enigmatic, and your posts do not pass the sniff test...
1. "I have a non-teaching wife and a daughter."
four years later...
2. "But I look young for my age, people think when they see me with one of my teenage daughters that we're a couple"

| I noticed your thread on the China forum. Let's see if the folks on this one can respond as well as they did over there, though they're not off to a good start. |

| Yeah, you're in the right age group. Many 20-someting women here act like they're 12 years old because Korean men are into the "cute" thing. It was the bane of my dating years in Korea. I felt like I was dating a string of children. Giggling, covering their mouths, acting incompetent, barely able to talk to me, let alone listen to me without teeheeing uncontrollably... |

Wow. Are you retarded? So, let me walk you through this. You see, sometimes people post things, and then time goes by. You know, time? Marriages end. It's called divorce. Happens. And small children grow up. Time does that too. Once you get divorced, then you're not married anymore. That's called being single again. And little girls, daughters, become lovely young women that can be mistaken for being older.
Take a look at the years those posts were posted genius. Are you people for real? I feel like I'm teaching my special ed kids. My oldest is in the Navy now and my youngest is about to graduate high school and go off to college. Can I post pics here? Jesus! Sniff test? What the hell are you talking about?! I mean, are you trying to look/sound/be stupid? It's like you can't read. (I of course am not directing these comments to those of you who are behaving like intelligent adults, you know who you are).

| You know guavashake, I can't honestly believe you mean what you wrote, especially since you referenced my point about people needing to read what I wrote. It's like you don't know things can change in FOUR years!!! Please explain that to me. How is that engimatic? What rock have you lived under that you don't know that people get divorced and children grow? I am profoundly confused by your confusion, to the point that the only explanation I can think of is mental incompetence, mental illness or you're intentionally trying to be provocative/agitative. I feel sorry for your students and co-workers. |

When there's a screen between you and an anonymous person, that person will say things that they wouldn't even consider saying when face-to-face with somebody. You just have to accept that people will be this way.
As you have seen, this is not the best place to ask for the advice you want. The vibe in the Korea forum here is quite negative. The people who do post here are as subtle as a kick in the groin. I believe the people enjoying Korea are too busy having fun to post on Dave's.
On the other hand, I understand why some of the members feel this way. As mentioned, this thread has been done to death and most of it is the same conversation over and over again. It doesn't justify the personal attacks on you, but it does explain the negative responses.
Unfortunately, this is to be expected from some people on the internet. You won't change that culture here and you won't find it much different on other expat sites. If you want to pursue this topic, you'll have to toughen up and shake off the haters. Perhaps dating advice websites would be better. |

I am literally laughing my ass off!!! Ok, here it is, really, really slow. I got married 21 years ago. Had 2 girls with her. Got divorced when they were toddlers and I got full custody. Got married again to another woman, that happens too, was with her just over 7 years, and divorced last year. Little kids now 18 and 19. Clear? Need any more hand holding? I know, it's a lot to take in and digest. But keep at it kid, I believe in you. You'll learn how to tell time and makes sense of chronology if you try long enough.

| Thanks DosEquisXX. That makes a lot of sense. I guess the world can't be filled with normal people. Oh well. You're right. I need a thicker skin it would seem. And there is something very, very different about this forum compared to the other country forums on Dave's. It's super negative, depressed and has an oppressive feeling. Not that there aren't haters on those forums too, but Christ!! Makes me not want to come to Korea. I know that's an overreaction, but it raises in my mind the question: what is different about Korea, teaching there, the teachers there and this forum about it that makes it so distinctively worse than its counterparts on Dave's? No need to try and answer that question. I won't be posting on this off-topic forum again. Lesson learned. |

I'd keep all that quiet if you're hoping to have a relationship with a Korean woman. You won't be considered much of a catch with that record. That's genuine advice. |

"This year I have two teenage daughters"
"Five years ago I had one daughter"
