Hello everyone,
This is my first post here on the forums, but I've been reading through the posts for a couple of days now. I'm thinking about coming to Korea to teach at a hagwon after I graduate in May. Based on a lot of the things I've read, there is some job turnover, people and schools change their minds, things come up, etc.
My question is this: what happens if I go through the WHOLE process of gathering documents, sending them to Korea, getting them back, sending them to the consulate, receiving my passport back with the E2 stamp, and then at the 11th hour, the school changes their mind or (God forbid) something happens where I'm unable to go to Korea in time for the start date? Will that bar me from ever being able to go, or is it as simple as going through the whole paperwork process again?
Sorry if this is a newbie question, but it is something that concerns me. If I commit myself to doing all this, I'd like to know what status I would have in certain situations.

There are NO guarantees in life.
IF they cancel before you arrive then pick a new country or wait 90 days for the visa to expire and try again.
If YOU cancel before you get on the plane, same story.
If things to to hell-in-hand-basket after you arrive there are options but none of them are convenient or easy... have money in the bank as a backup in case you need to change countries or return home.

So after 90 days, an old visa becomes a non-issue? |

If it is unused then it will expire in 90 days.
The exception may be Americans who may have received a 1-year multi-entry visa. Then it would need to actually be canceled or wait a year for it to expire.
