I'm laughing out loud at this.

This guy has been around since 2003 and his Mom jumps on his account?

Bizarre.

First you are a journalist and now you're a native English teacher?

Can't keep your lies straight.

False. The journalist is Korean. I am a foreign English teacher.

Please don't take efforts that support the primary cause in this thread as ad hominem.

You *should* realize the overuse of specific vocabulary is a dead giveaway that you're using a dictionary. You are not a 'foreign' English teacher (we don't call ourselves that). Your use of language is a poor imitation at best. Instead of trying to sucker people into supporting you, you may want to consider that your name is sullied now. You need to create new id's and try again on another forum. Unlike Korea, university graduates *DO* investigate background, fact-check, analyze sources, reference, identify false sources of information and we DO NOT COPY or fake our work.

If I did what you are doing now for a university project, I could very well be dismissed for ethical violations in my work.

Absolutely shameful.

Add in the fact you display no shame for your actions is proof positive you are a fraud.

False.

Let's keep this dialog lighthearted.

Like mentioned before, anyone is welcomed to contribute their story for case studies to be submitted to a Korean journalist. Of course only relevant cases will be used, so please keep the case studies to the facts.

I am a foreign English teacher who have taken the role of compiling these case studies on this highly popular and professional web forum.

The intention of the newspaper article is to highlight on how some educational institutes may be using 'loop-holes' in the Korean labor law to take advantage of foreign English teachers.

The potential article to be published will be in Korean for the Korean audience.

P.S. I am pretty much on 'your' side. Cheers!

Smile

I suspect he's not Korean, but rather a native speaker of English pretending to be a Korean pretending to be a native speaker of English. He's pretty good at mimicking the typical errors Koreans make when speaking English, but he gave it away when he called Dave's a "popular and professional web forum." No one would seriously describe this forum in that fashion, and any Korean culturally aware enough to make that kind of joke would not be using Konglish.

Sounds like a pretty crappy attempt at a troll. This kind of crap pops up on the boards way more often than it should and I suspect that TheMeerkatLover was closer in his/her guess.

It's quite possible.

And which native EFL speaker on here would say something like, "Let's keep this dialog lighthearted?"

"light hearted" is not how I would describe the tone of Dave's Korean side of the forum.

Guys and Gals,

I've read a lot about fellow foreign ESL teachers, or native English teachers, getting a raw deal from their employers, whom generally have the business acumen of lemonade-stand kids back in our home countries.

I have too, personally experienced such mistreatment, and the disillusionment that adult 'business' owners would boldly admit to use hearsay evidence as part of their scheme, making the vulnerable ESL teacher feel it would be a futile attempt to defend one's own rights.

This type of unfair workplace practice has happened to me on more than one occasion. And, I have heard of similar stories to some people in my city, here in Korea.

I just wanted to do my share of work, for what I believe was best fitted for my purpose, in this small and temporary part of my life. I can't understand why when so many have complained about unfair treatment, and when someone is now willing to stand up for our rights, those who are expressing their thoughts, are only those who are opposing the main purpose of this internet thread.

I know my form of communication, through writing, may seem unorthodox. However, we all grew up differently, and can understand how maybe some people just write on internet forums with the same intention as they would have when speaking with them in person.

So, I know I failed to communicate my personal story in order to gain the trust of you guys, I hope I have begun to show you all that I am indeed doing my best to solve a problem that we all know exists.

Cheers, all.
