I know exactly how you feel but not in the sense of my nose but i want my freckles removed. tell me how you get on, or if you see anything or can recommend anyone (for when i go over) i hope it goes well for you ^.^ |
That would be like a unicorn cutting its horn off! Don't do it!
Personally I think freckles are lovely feature on anyone, and Asians with freckles are extra cute for their rarity.
The few occasions when I've met an Asian with freckles they've hated them though...baffles me. Is it a social thing? Do you get made fun of for it? |
Honestly not a sob story because i feel better now but i use to get bullied and rocks thrown at me. the things is im really pale with freckles.. but i get them from my mother so they are on my arms and shoulders too. and the back of my calfs. but i really just hate the sight of them. >.<
But thank you for your comment. I appreciate some people do find them a charm and unique but im afraid to say i don't. |
You were bullied BECAUSE you have freckles? Where did you grow up?
I haven't really heard of that except apropos of making fun of red-heads, which where I grew up only really became a thing after that South Park episode (the idiocy of that particular social phenomenon is difficult to comprehend).
I myself have loads of freckles (though the ones on my face have faded a bit in adulthood) and a nearly albino complexion, so I'm biased I suppose, but I'm a big fan of them. Aside from the aspect of perhaps being indicative of sun damage.
Anyway, all that is really neither here nor there, as obviously it's totally your prerogative. I do think it's unfortunate you came to "hate the sight of them" for whatever reason, especially because, if you have kids, that's a feature you might well pass on to them. Hopefully in that scenario you could learn to love them again. |
And so the trend will continue...
The level of social stigma toward freckles astounds me.
I remember a student of mine a couple of years ago - 10 years old coming to class with his face red-raw from having repetitive laser treatment. His mum said they were ugly and forced the treatment on him. I honestly hadn't noticed them at all before hand.
And foreskins must be ugly too because teenage boys are still made to have theirs chopped off in Korea. |
Erm.. tbh laser treatment is what i hope for in Korea. i know freckles are just different colours of the skin but people just don't see it that way.. its like you have a disease of something as people look at me as if im dirt on their shoe. its a horrible feeling. |

Yes i was bullied because i had freckles.. There is nothing wrong with me hahaha (that im aware of) i just have freckles. i was too different being the only person to have them. funny thing is im naturally very dark hair but my sister has auburn (not ginger) hair but olive skin from my dad so we are complete opposites. i don't have kids. and i know i will probably pass some freckles onto them however in my case it is literally just arms, face and just the odd fer on my chest or back of calfs. but the rest of me is milky white.. I just hope i can find a solution in Korea to get ride of these from 'all' my body. |

I met a Korean girl with more freckles than the average Korean. I pointed it out in a positive manner and she got super insecure. I thought they looked good though. Also dated a girl who had them lasered off. I didn't understand it and never noticed them until she pointed them out. |

i think it does sometimes depend on your upbringing. my mum has them ( hence why i do) but she ridiculed me a bit when i had them, she advised me to cover up so the sun doesn't make more. my sister had some moles but doesn't old enough to get them removed so she cut the circulation to each one of them due to pressure from my mum. (its the same with weight and clothes anything really. she has a lot of control in our lives) |
