With the big vote being held Sept 18th, and assuming Scotland votes yes for independence Scots here will be deported until a new draft of the Korean immigration can pass government legislatures.

Now that could take some time, they're busy with health and safety reform in Korea (after the ship sinking), opening up the real possibility of Scots being banned from teaching ESL in Korea for up to 18 months!

I don't know any Scots, if you do pass on the info.

At least Scots with EPIK can finish their contracts (assuming you finish end Aug) and collect all money owed, you may well be able to collect a full pension refund, before you go home!

On a UK passport, does it specify what part of the UK the passport holder is from?

It specifies place of birth but only mentions city.

Scotland wont become independent straight away, they will still remain within the UK until 2016 at the earliest. In reality it is probably going to take a year or two more to get past all the negotiations.

Plus if the very watered down version of 'independence' that the SNP are after becomes reality, I am sure it wouldn't be too difficult for Scots in Korea to get something sorted out with plenty of warning.

It won't, I wouldn't worry to much about being deported if I was Scottish.

There is a real worry at the Seoul service center that they'll be inundated with drunken Scottish people after the vote.

So a normal Friday night then!

It's interesting to see the desperation among the English to keep the union with Scotland alive.
The British empire is well and truly finished and Scotland leaving would be the final nail in the English coffin. All they would be left with are London riots, football hooliganism, and diminishing chants of "Engurland" as their national team once again embarrasses themselves at the world cup.

All the while the Scots are deciding their own fate, while enjoying the prime minister begging them to stay part of the union (which incidentally I think they will). As the Scots ponder their decision, the English swing between ever more desperate please, or attempting to use scare tactics to ensure a no vote. These very scare tactics are actually increasing the amount of Scots voting for independence. Scotland the Brave, indeed.

And as for the English, I think the pathetic trolling nature of the OP speaks volumes.

This post is typical Dave's BS. I have a UK passport and was born in Glasgow. My passport was just renewed for 10 years. Most Koreans, and probably immi as well, don't understand what the UK even is. As long as you have a valid passport, you'll be fine.

Also, is there an article from an newspaper for this, or did you just blow it out your ass?

Brilliant. You couldn't negate any of the points I made and the best you could come up with are the Turks and Caicos Islands.
I like a lot of English people, but there are some condescending, usually Torie supporting, Daily Mail reading, pompous little knobs, that need to button their lip.

FDNY is correct when he asks "did you just blow it out your ass?"

Yes, youve just summarised England perfectly, that's all the country is... Rolling Eyes

I think you missed the bit where actually, most English people couldnt give a toss one way the other whether or not Scotland/Wales/Ireland or Cornwall is part of our Government or taking money from our taxes. I for one would love to cross the border and have to change money and feel like Im on holiday!

I love Scotland the way it is, its a beautiful country - if they want to be independent, good luck to them I say! Im sure it would do wonders to preserve their culture.

Btw, Why are you so bitter toward the Brits Jazzmaster?
