|
|
I just opened up a bank account at KEB and was given a credit card. I assume that the teller opened a default bank account for me and I promptly put in 1000000 into it. The teller also gave me a credit card and a little thing for an online account as well. My question is can I use this credit card to use the Blue or Green Buses or do I have to go fill up my T-money card? |

That's a debit card, not a credit card, and no, you need to use your T-money. |

You have to ask for the public transportation card. You don't have to recharge it, it debits from your account. |

when you do get a credit card, most if not all will work on buses for the most part. I have a Hyundai M3 card and it has worked on every single bus and transit I have taken EXCEPT one bus I rode while in Daegu. Of course the bus driver muttered something about many cards not working that day so it could have just been the scanner. |

You need to request from your bank providing the credit card that you want transportation services activated for card so you can use it on any public transportation. It is something they should have asked you when you signed up for it. They may be able to do it as an 'add-on' but I am not sure. My Samsung Card has it along with my wife's cards as well. We use them when we travel and need to use any public transportation rather than having the T-money card. Easier and never needs to be re-charged.
You can also have the same service activated for your checkcards, but you need to make sure you have funds in the bank for that service to work. It's not a problem, but I much rather prefer using my creditcard for this service rather than taking my cash money away from my checkcard when I travel. Cheers |

i can also confirm that credit cards from every major bank in korea will work at any point you need tmoney as long as it has an IC chip in it, whether it's in a 7-11, bus, taxi, train, etc. as someone else pointed out, you might need to set it up with the bank though. |

Try it on the subway, if you can use the card on there then 99.9% sure you can use it on the bus. If not go back to the bank and tell them you want that feature added. Ditch your t-Money card. The color of bus doesn't matter. |
