I have decided that I would like to get my own place and thus a deposit is required. However, my money is with a bank in the US. How do I retrieve this money aside from going to an ATM every single day and hoping I don't get robbed? |

Do a wire transfer from your US bank account to your Korean bank account, and expect to pay a small fee. |

Thanks. Is there a certain bank that allows this? I don't think mine allows it without me being in person at a branch... Only way for me to do that is to fly back to the States... |

Most banks will follow written instructions in a letter that you send to them at the branch provided the directions are accurate and specific.
They have the signature on the letter to compare to the one on file so identity is not usually an issue (no different than writing a check in that regard).
Having the letter notarized (verification of sender) will usually facilitate the process if it is larger sum of money. It certainly worked for me when I was banking at Wells Fargo (albeit about 10 years ago).
