Would you breakup with your partner if you found out he/she had plastic surgery? |

Of course. Plastic surgery is a strong indicator that my partner values their appearance excessively and therefore not worth my time. |

Flip side: you're the shallow one got caring so much. If you liked her enough to have her become something you could call a partner, what does it matter? |

Too many variables. Be more specific. |

I guess if she looked completely different from before, it might be an issue. But I would be able to spot it right away. Something like a nose job or the eyelid thing wouldn't bother me. |

No. I'm perfectly OK with my babies being ugly.
Now I found out she used to be a man......... |

And, you know, if she showed up one day with larger boobs, one might be tempted to pop the question then and there.
Although, I did have an interesting experience. I had a co-worker who was a fantastic example of just a generally beautiful Korean woman. I worked with her for a year, then we had the end of year break, and she showed up for the new year looking like a chipmonk. She had apparently had collagen or something injected into her cheeks. This actually was a warning signal for me as a co-worker because as it turned out, she'd gone slightly nuts over the break. The plastic surgery was definitely a symptom. |

Its not a good sign.
She already has you, coz you're together.
So the only possible reason she would be getting it is to try and impress someone else that she considers more of a challenge.
yes its her body and her decision but if she doesn't even mention it to you first then...that's a blatant red light. |

Not a problem unless it was a complete renovation. |

There was a thread on Dave's a few years back that was an interesting variation of the OP's question, and something Chap touched on.
In this other thread a western guy was married to a beautiful Korean woman and she, without discussing it with him, went in for double eyelid surgery in an attempt to get a more "western" face. He was pretty upset about it(as I would be), as he loved her face just as it was before the surgery.
Yes, it is her body and so she can do what she wants, but as part of a couple shouldn't she have at least discussed it with him? I mean that is a pretty major thing to spring on your mate. |

Maybe in a western country, but in Korea getting a plastic surgery is also about female-female status competition. It's the same as a Chanel bag in a way. |

If you break up actually it's YOU whom values their appearance excessively. Is getting double eye lid surgery any more vain than getting braces on perfectly healthy teeth for asthetic appearance? |
