I feel like it should be mentioned that a second "hero" was recovered today. Now I don't want to be cynical but reports are saying he called his wife shortly before his death to inform her that he had to go back down to save the children and for her to spend their savings on educating their kids.
There are a lot of things the Korean gov't gets wrong....but I like the idea that if you die doing something for others the gov't will compensate your family. |

As opposed to the other posters who constantly admit they're wrong?
Besides, what do I have to admit being wrong about? I made my point. People disagree with it. Some rather than debate the timeline and facts of the case instead argue by saying I'm in love with the captain. The very captain I'm arguing should face a harsher charge because his act of abandoning ship was premeditated. I guess they're just too dimwitted or anti-intellectual to able to grasp the concept of having questions about a decision in the incident vs. defending someone. But what do you expect from someone who's argument consists of "why don't you go bake him some cookies". The argument a 5 year old would make. |

The four minutes in question were last seen in the possession of Kato Kaelin.

There, you finally admitted it. Doesn't that make you feel better?
Why would I argue with your fabrications, lies and distortions? You even admit that you will never admit to being wrong. No matter what anyone says you'll come up with some new found life experience that makes you an expert anyway. Airplane crash, SR is suddenly an experienced pilot. Sea disaster, SR is suddenly a maritime expert. Racism, SR grew up as a minority in an all white rural town. Crime, SR grew up in the ghetto. Shooting star, SR grew up on Aldarran 5. Problems in Ukraine, SR is an ex-KGB spy. Stepped on a lego, SR is a Danish toy designer. What's the point?
You went too far with the Sewol and have been outed for what you are. Now we just mock you. |

BlackCat, why are you so dumb that you can't understand basic concepts?
Can you understand the concept of having questions about one thing someone is being accused of, does not mean you are defending the person as a whole?
I have a brain and control over my emotions. That's why I can at one point question one thing people are accusing the crew over and at another, argue for a harsher sentence based on premeditation in their actions. It's called intellectually considering the issue, not just going on impulse. It's called critically thinking and examining the evidence. The evidence in my view supports not blaming them for one thing, while demanding a harsher sentence for another- the very same evidence in fact (timeline, circumstances of the incident, etc.).
The questions for you BlackCat is why are you not smart enough and why do you lack the emotional control to be able to talk about an issue in such a fashion? Are you not smart enough to be able to grasp such a concept?
Also, everything you claim I said, I haven't said. Post quotes, don't make stuff up. Are you so lacking in emotional control and the ability to rationally discuss things that you have to make stuff up about me? |

You're obviously upset because your hero the Sewol captain is being prosecuted. I won't take your immature name calling personally because I know you're under a lot of distress in this trying time. |

Immature is you saying I said things I did not say.
Immature is also you being unable to differentiate between having an issue with one aspect of the case and defending them.
If I love this captain, then why am I making a case for him to receive a harsher sentence for a different aspect of the incident?
Again, BlackCat, why are you unable to understand such a concept? Are you not intelligent enough to be able to examine different aspects of a case without "falling in love" with the defendant
And may I have an answer to this question- Do you think Stalin did the right thing by fighting Hitler and the Nazis in WWII? |

Steel, I see your point, but you also have to be aware how always being the contrarian comes across. |

BlackCat, care to answer the Stalin question?
If you don't think Stalin was right to fight the Nazis, then you're a Nazi lover.
If you do think Stalin was right to fight the Nazis, then you are defending Stalin, in love with him, and are totally down with him slaughtering millions of his own people.
Do you not see the fallacy in such thinking? But that is essentially what you are accusing me of. Unfortunately you are either not mature or not intelligent enough to examine this issue without thinking on such a level. The fact that you've resorted to a 3rd graders level and are going "You love the captain, you love the captain, nyah nyah nyah nyah nyah" shows that on some level you realize the illogical nature of your position and have resorted to personal attacks. |

...point taken Zyzyfer. I've done it too. it happens. But he's not just twisting it, he's getting it flat out wrong. |

So is there, to your way of thinking, some acceptable level of twisting another's words? Is there some level of hypocrisy that is acceptable in defending some greater good?
If there is, how do you determine it? Do you have some scientific formula? |
