So i've been looking for a job teaching english in BUSAN, South Korea. I have applied to many recruiters who passed my resume/cv on to schools but have yet to receive an offer.
I am a native British, Male with no previous teaching experience, but have successfully completed a 120-hour TEFL certificate and have volunteered as a classroom assistant.
I understand it is very difficult to get a job in BUSAN, especially if you are not North American, Female or have previous teaching experience in Korea.
Anyone got advice for me, any schools i should apply to, recruiters?
Are there any other British citizens having the same problem?
I do want to work in BUSAN and not really considering other places just yet.
Thanks in advance for any replies. |

3 possible options:
1 - check out the Busan related Facebook groups for up coming roles and maybe build some contacts in the area.
2 - Consider locations just outside Busan, just like Seoul being just outside in a satellite city is often nicer and more sociable.
3 - Come over as a Tourist, many roles these days only hire people in country. It's expensive and a risk but if your heart it set on Busan it maybe your best shot. |
