|
|
Hi all, I sent my FBI background check out on April 28th. I saw that they cleared my check a week and a half ago...so I am hoping to receive it in the mail within the next 2ish weeks.
Have any of you had success using an expedited service to get the FEDERAL apostille? It just makes me nervous sending my documents to someone else...but I know that sending to the US Dept of State directly can take a few weeks and I am fearful that I may not get back in time.
I need my documents all handled by July 15th.
Thanks for any info!!! |

It is weird, their website says 5-7 business days to process.
You get the actual FBI check itself in 4 weeks. Not sure why the apostille would take so long.
If you sent yours out on Apr 28 its already been a month and if you get it in two weeks that would be 6 weeks. Wtf
I think I might just drive up to DC and get my done.
Anyone do the walk in service and was able to get it processed that day or the next? |

You're right - I do see the 5-7 days. I've read otherwise on other websites. I guess I will be fine!
I've also read 4-6 weeks for the check itself, so maybe it's in my mailbox today |

So you already had your FBI check in hand and mailed it to the US State Dept on April 28 to get it apostilled?

This sounds like you are talking about the FBI check and not the apostille. |

No. I mailed my fingerprint cards then. Still waiting to have FBI check in hand. |

Huh? You guys are confusing each other. Sounds like she mailed out her CBC and should get it back soon......and is wondering where to send it out (when it returns) to get apostilled so she can have it in hand and sent out by July 15th.
Yes? |

The first sentence confused me. Fingerprint card and application would have been more appropriate imo.
Anyways, yea, FBI check usually takes 4 weeks so you should be getting it back in a week or so.
I wouldnt bother paying all that money for an expedited service. Check to see if your Secretary of State apostilles Federal documents. If not, mail it to DC. |

Thanks. We just received them in the mail today so I think I will be sending off to DC on Monday. My state won't apostille FBI background checks. |
