I feel a little silly asking this, but I was wondering if anyone knows whether I will be able to take my pet hedgehog with me to South Korea, assuming that is allowed by my hiring school. I have only been able to find information about traveling with cats or dogs. Thanks for your comments! |

take it back to a forest where it belongs and stop being so fecking selfish.
Really, if you cant travel without your pet hedgehog, youre not going to do very well without your mum to make your bed and tell you to brush your teeth either...
and assuming this isnt a troll post |

Thank you Le-Paul for your helpful, informative, and mature response. I encourage you to do some research about hedgehogs in captivity. Also, I will do just fine without my hedgehog, but I do believe he will miss me! |

Yeah, Ill do that.
If you could send me some research links of a sample size of, say 100 or so (?) hedgehogs that have been interviewed/questioned about their experiences of living in captivity vs the wild.
Ill read it this weekend sometime. Thanks |

I'm fairly certain you can't take hedgehogs out of korea, supported by all the foreigners looking to rehome their hedgehog after they leave korea. So you probably can't bring them in. |

I had to release my hedgehog into the wild before I left. |

Custom Officials are being such tight asses these days, just last month I tried to bring a grizzly bear that my parents raised from birth over here. He had all the correct vaccinations AND he already had chicken pox. Those jerks still said no.
Can you believe the nerve of them? He only bites when he feels threatened, or when he's hungry. Or when he's grumpy, or if he doesnt get a nap. Other than that he's an angel.
I named him Walter. |

Birds, rabbits, hamsters, ferrets etc. have a 5-day quarantine and of course you need the regular forms. Probably best to get a Korean friend to phone this number (quarantine office in Incheon Airport) to make sure since there isn't anything specifically for hedgehogs on the page. They're somewhat popular in Korea though so it won't be unheard of.

You might also want to look at the restrictions on exporting your pet from Korea back to your home country (export from Korea (one set of rules) and import to home (another set of rules)).
There may be significant import restrictions baring your return home with your pet (assuming you are not planning on a one-way journey for it).

LOL. Now I've heard everything. Honestly, what's a grown adult doing with a pet hedgehog? This can't be a serious post, can it? |
