Hi, wasn't sure where exactly to post this, so I put it here.

Can anyone here tell me whether or not Korean uses the same word for both "space" and "universe?"

Thanks a bunch!

And also, what is the Korean word for space and universe? Just realized I didn't specify that in my question. Thanks again!

우주 can mean both "space" and "universe" as far as I'm aware.

If it's about the vast realm outside the Earth, then both space and universe translate to '우주'.
But if it's something like, 'enough space between two objects', then space translates to '공간'.
If the context happens to be something like 'Game of Thrones universe', then '우주' sounds inappropriate, '세계' or '세계관' is more appropriate, which in turn usually corresponds to '(the) world'.

Try the world for galaxy, 은하.
That might be more similar to our concept of universe.

Anyways, I'm going to ask my ct tomorrow to see what word she used for universe.
