Right, I wrote what I actually happening, and you wrote their excuses for what is happening. I get it.

So let's hear the story from the "innocent" guy. Waiting...

but your "sizable minority" is huge and contributes greatly to the overall feel of the roads here. It's pretty much the norm here to drive like an impatient A-hole with no regard for anyone else on the road or pedestrians. Full stop.

Well its a lot of people. But if I were to soberly analyze the number of people in a single commute who did me wrong vs. those who proceeded normally, then those who proceeded normally would still outweigh those who did wrong. Yes, we all remember that asshole we encounter regularly who cuts us off, but we forget the 12 people on either side of us who just drove normally.

That's not to say it isn't a big problem or doesn't happen more frequently here. But I think we have to be careful about having a selective memory bias.

Better to simply be careful on the roads and treat Korean drivers as hazardous and unpredictable. Read the cabeza post above yours, which pretty much sums up driving here. I agree with him that the "good" drivers here are 20% or less.

Also, it's not just the drivers that do ME wrong, it's also seeing them do EVERYONE else wrong too. It's the driving culture here and the norm.

Fine, don't mind if Korean people stereotype foreigners/blacks/you in return now, do you?

Not much, I'm used to their stereotypes by now and have come to expect it. The difference is, when it comes to this driving stereotype we're talking about, it's pretty spot on TRUE and you darn well know it. Whereas the stereotypes of foreigners they have are pretty hit and miss.

Oh those spoiled adult princess girls can be just as bad, if not worse. Don't let the smile and the legs deceive you. Not to mention half those guys driving the car have one of those girls in the seat next to them screaming to get there faster and to steal that close parking spot so they don't have to walk as far in their heels.

Sounds like someone has experience with this! Smile
As for the smile and legs, yes they deceive me almost every time, but she sure ain't telling me how to drive.

My father in law bought my 25 year old brother in law a new car. Within three weeks he'd rear ended someone.

I agree with SR on the 40%. The roads are pretty busy, so it seems like everyone is terrible, but I'd say that it is a minority. The majority is just clueless, not so dickish - like the people that can't make a smooth left turn at an intersection.

People that can't stay between two white lines when driving through bends always makes me smile.

That's about 80% of drivers here.
