Ok, so we're all used to hearing some pretty ridiculous stuff come out of the mouths of Koreans ("we invented the internet" "we invented soccer" "damn Americans! what have they ever done for us!?!" ...) but I recently heard one of the best ones.
Chatting with some co-workers and our boss about relationships and she comes out with "well, all Koreans know the western men aren't as secure as Korean men are with their women. That's why every morning you have to kiss your wife and tell her you love her"
I'm sorry, the requisite heaping of superfical gifts and spending of insane amounts of money by Korean men for their partners is a sign of what? |

Kimchi stopped SARS.
Not very good with the common cold though. |

The fact that a Korean man has any theory about insecurity shows what's on their minds.
Most Korean men I know speak about how hard it is to get and keep a good woman.
Here's another perplexer:
How come the very same Koreans who lament the fact that Korea isn't physically bigger than it is compared to Canada, Russia, etc., are the same Koreans who've never been to the nearby provinces of Korea?
Freud has an answer for both oddities. |

Why are they so insecure? Korea aint doing too badly. Yet some poorer nations don't seem to have this complex.
How about:
"Westerners don't love their parents/children/families as much as Koreans ." |

Just let them pass. I don't see why there's a desire to correct these thoughts. They reflect poorly on themselves, not on you.. :)
You can always try to argue about something that can be quantified (which makes up very few of these "Korea is better/bigger/faster than..."). In this way, you can always win.
But you'll notice they'll never argue about these things.. :)
Have fun.

lol too funny. And bump on the kimchi stopping sars. I get that kind of stuff all the time from my wife. Kimchi, garlic, ginger, ginseng etc... It seems everyone korean food cures something, even some cancers! It's a wonder people don't live to be 200 here |

I heared someone say that you should eat lots of pork fat as it helps clear all of the chalk dust out of your throat after teaching. The mind boggles |
