I just got back from Seoul and the smog was terrible there. My friend said it was like that for weeks. I felt like I started smoking or something. Glad to be back in Jeju. Fresh and rainy. |

I have a smokers cough but never smoke. That's how bad it is.
When I leave the place and go hiking then I remember what clean air feels like. |

My sinuses go into emergency shut down mode as soon as I exit the arrival exit to the street at Inchon Intl. |

My sinuses and cough have been terrible for a week too.
But the air index says 35, which is green, really good air.
Is this haze just natural fog, or is it pollution? My cough is telling me pollution, but the air index says nice clean fog.
Rather confused (and jealous of Jujuites!) |

My cough and throat was telling me the same thing. Their pollution gauges are broken or they don't want people to know just how bad the smog really is.
Similar pollution readings in Jeju but I could smell the difference as soon as I got off the plane. |

I think it's a combination of both. In the the morning fogs and in really humid weather the smog haze seems exponentially worse (even though the air quality website indicates the air is much better than late winter / early spring). A nice rainstorm usually clears it right out though.
The last week or so, visually, has been seriously depressing, but I don't find it nearly as harsh on the lungs as it was during the late winter. Maybe it's just the difference in moisture though. |

When lungs and smog stopped holding hands and braiding each other's hair we had to step up.
Alternately, when exercising outside became an unhealthy thing.
Or when the world's draw distance became shittier than the average video game.
Also, for some of us it was about 365 days after we became 8 year old girls. |
