Sorry, I'm sure there are plenty of threads posted on this. I used the search function but just kept arriving at a blank page.

I have an interview for a job offer coming up this Sunday evening. On the job offer brief it says the shifts are from 9am~8pm Monday - Friday for 2.3-2.5 Mil. won. Furnished apartment included.

Perhaps I'm just used to working a 35-40 hour work week with okay pay, but that seems like quite a few working hours, especially if I factor in transportation and the amount of time learning all the basic day to day things in a foreign country.

Is this normal, abnormal, thoughts?

You're joking, that's an insane schedule. Especially if it involves teaching young kids. If you try and do your job properly, you will be exhausted every night. If you don't , the kids will walk all over you and the parents will complain.

Unless it is a split schedule, those are insane working hours.

It sounds like a kindy-elementary-middle school split shift at a hagwon:
typically kindy from 10-1 then elementary from 3-5 and middle school from 5-8 with your "breaks" in between.

It is a 40 hour work week and likely only scheduled for 30 hours in the classrooms but it makes for a long work week.
