Objections to the Administration's executive actions
The House of Representatives will sue President Barack Obama for not “faithfully executing” the law, Speaker John Boehner said Wednesday, though he declined to say which of Obama’s actions the House will challenge in court.
“What we’ve seen certainly over the last five years is an effort to erode the power of the legislative branch,” Boehner said. “I believe the President is not faithfully executing the laws of the country and on behalf of the institution and our constitution, standing up and fighting for this is in the best long-term interest of the Congress.” |
I'm not well versed in American politics, but my understanding is Congress weren't getting anything done, so Obama started cutting them out of decision making. Now they're throwing a tantrum?
Again, I'm not really up on things, just catch The Daily Show or Colbert every couple of months.
Seems like an interesting situation, though the Press Secretary seemed fairly dismissive of the whole thing. |

You're description is accurate. Congress couldn't even get budgets passed on time and/or frequently flips flops on issues (the stupid POW trade thing) |

I've yet to see an honest defense of the Bergdahl trade - do you have one? |

Congress hasn't passed a full budget on time since the mid-90s, nothing new there. |
