I'm doing some paperwork back home and I need to estimate the value of the room I lived in. I worked at a hagwon 2 years ago and the hagwon had a dorm building for the teachers which included a shared kitchen. It was pretty nice. How much do you think this was worth.? I'm not looking for an exact amount. Any rough estimate would be fine.

Three bags of kimchee,

Two bottles of OB,

And a partridge in a pear tree.

You can buy a 3 bedroom villa in most parts of Seoul for that much or less.

I was confused by your answers and now I see why. I'm talking about the value of MONTHLY RENT. Not the value of the room itself. Basically, all I'm asking is the average rent for a small apartment in a non-fancy area of busan.

The value of monthly rent? Are you a native speaker? Don't you know what it means in English when we ask what the value of something is or how much it's worth? Rolling Eyes

Seoul - Gyeong-gi. OUtside those areas, much cheaper, even in Busan. A few luxury apartments more expensive in these places. But if you go with an average apt, deals can be had. Of course an older building, prob a good deal. No high crime like there would be in the west which would deter you from living there.

Newer office tels in my town are 60 to 90 million to own? Seoul much much more.

If you're doing paperwork for back home then just "estimate" it based on what's in your best interest. No one is going to know where you lived, whether it was nice or ugly, or how much the rent was. You could have been staying in a goshiwon (like a dorm, possibly with shared facilities) for 300k Won /month. Likewise, your boss might have been paying 1 million Won a month to put you in a really nice place. Which of those two numbers would be better for YOU on that paperwork?
