And if it expires after 6 months while you are working in Korea do you need to find another one if you apply to a different ESL job? |

Any job working with minors (E1, E2, E7, F2/4/5/6), in entertainment (E6), or any job that requires a security clearance (lots of different letters) needs a CRC for either visa issuance or employer clearance.
You don't need it to become a prostitute, dishwasher, store clerk or street sweeper. You don't need it to get drafted into the army.
As long as you stay in Korea and don't leave for more than 90 days you usually don't need another one. If you come and get a job as a teacher then 6 months later get fired and take a job as a street sweeper then you don't need one.
If you come and get a job as a dishwasher then 6 months later try to get a job as a teacher then you will need a new one.
Does your mother know you are planning to run away from home?
Might be better to stay in suburban Mi. than to cut the apron strings.

And when you need a new one, do you need to come back all the way to the USA or can you apply from Korea? |

Are you joking? Are you like pulling my leg? You have been a member since 2011. In all that time you once clued on about the basics of and about the CRC Not once in the forum, in conversations with people, recruiters, and so that the FBI check, apostille, getting fingerprints never came up. sputter sputter ..... (just lie. lie...)
Yes, you have to go back home and apply for a whole new CRC. |

Are there any hagwons that don't require CRC for gyopos, especially if they didn't go back to the USA after having the CRC 6months ago, so that it would have been impossible to have committed crimes in the USA during the interim? |

So long story short, you are a gyopo with a criminal background. |

Yes there are hagwons like that, but they are by all purposes breaking the law. Working with people that do not mind breaking the law always seems to work out so well. Even gyopos need to have a record check.
As to why do you need a CRC if you have not had the chance to commit a crime. STOP THAT! STOP THAT RIGHT NOW. BAD WAYGOOK! THAT IS LOGICAL AND COMMON SENSE. WE WANT NONE OF THAT NONSENSE.
You are dealing with two things here Koreans. Known for not always being the most logical and government bureaucracy which has its own logic.
You can try fighting against both, you are likely to lose out in the end. More often the naught some comon sense comes in later or in the side, just do not expect it and rely upon it. Just get the CRC in the process. Costs some money, less if you go slow route. Some places are willing to wait. In the end having it will be better then not having it. |

You will need a CBC to work legally at any teaching job in Korea on your F4 or any other visa. Immigration requires one for foreigners coming here to teach on an E2 visa and many F visas. The education office requires one for all teachers. You can use a copy of the CBC provided to immigration (which Immi will certify for your use) or an original CBC for the education office. If you don't need one for Immi you still need one for the education office.
If you don't leave Korea or leave for only a short time, you can usually continue to use the first one that is already on file.
It is possible to get a new CBC from back home while in Korea if you need one.
There are other threads discussing how to get a CBC from back home if you are already in Korea. (Please search if you want to know more.)
Although it is possible to reuse the CBC you have on file even if you leave Korea for a short time, it is not advisable to use that window of time to commit a criminal act back home with hopes of escaping back to Korea.
If you can establish Korean citizenship and obtain a Korean passport and work for a while in Korea in other jobs, eventually you may be able to get a job with a Korean CBC and hide a criminal past from your time abroad. |
