Yippee!!! I found the sweet spot!! I'm talking about Korean "Lay's" potato chips. No, not the chips themselves as you can never count on the brands here being as good as back home. They don't put any salt or spice on them whatsoever. So, it taste's dull. Anyways, I had bought a shaker of dill pickle power when I was back in Canada visiting last year. Anyways, I bought some plain Lay's this morning and put them on a plate in the teachers room. Themn, I liberally applied the powder and they almost taste like I'm eating Dill Pickle Lay's back in Canada. Got some American relatives to also send me some ranch and cheese flovor. These flavorings are actually for popcorn, but work well on plain Lay's here. Almost like back home. Half the Koreans hate it and half of them like it as if salt or seasonings were the best invention since sliced bread. Ha ha.
Anyways, this is my solution to you in order to get good chips. (I have also resorted to buying the yellow bag colored Doritos, putting those on a plate, and dousing them with the salt shaker.) Desperate times call for desperate measures. May the force be with you my children and good luck. |
