I filed a complaint against my former employer at the Ministry of Employment and Labor for unpaid wages. They said they will review my file and respond in about a week.

It's been 8 days and no response so far.

A friend also filed a complaint back in March, and he still has not heard back.

Assuming I experience the same lack of response, is there a next step or further action I can take? Lawyers? any other free legal services for foreigners in Seoul?

Thanks.

Go back and ask what is happening with it.

I agree. Go back and see what the hold up is. You can also tell them that you want to take the employer to court and ask for instructions on how to do that.

Do you have all of the necessary paperwork to back up your claim? Pay stubs? Bank statement for the period in question? Copy of your contract? This might seem obvious, but I know of a lot of people who didn't think of that in advance and just went in and filed a complaint. The paper trail makes it a lot easier and therefore speeds up the process.

The first time you were there, did the LB guy call your boss? While you were still there?
