David Luiz?

Funny how Spain's, England's, Suarez's, Korea's, and Italy's embarrassments were all wiped out by that goat of a game by Brazil lead by Sideshow Bob.
Yeah, the poor guy. If Brazil had finished at the quarter-final stage he would have been remembered for what was arguably the best free kick of the entire World Cup. On top of the world one game, scorned the next.

What a ridiculous statement. There's a bunch of kind of sports fans. Anyone who is a fan knows that. There's the guy who follows the team left and right and knows all the ins and outs but pronounces doom and gloom and always says "That's it, I'm done with them". There's fantasy fan who bleeds his teams colors but has his fantasy team that he freaks out over. There's the guy who stages the "fan protest" by boycotting the team until they do X, Y, or Z but still follows them. There's the guy who is a diehard but then the new era of free agency starts and you go and sign Johnny Damon and suddenly he flips his lid over you signing a frigging Red Sox player.

Come one man. This is sports. We all know that there are tons of different kinds of fans.

Those are all fans. Pure and simple.

If you knew anything about anything, you'd know that.

Funny, how you claim everything and everyone is the same until you say it isn't.

Yes, but are they loyal fans? Some would say yes, some not, and some would say they are something else.

Your statement makes about as much sense as George W. Bush saying "You're either with us or against us".

Not according to the logic of your sentence.

Quote:
There's no third kind of fan. You're either a loyal fan or you're not.

Evidently you believe there are two kinds of fans. The sentence that follows shows that of those two there are either loyal fans or those that are not (disloyal fans).

That's what your own sentence says. Don't blame me for writing a crock of crap.

atwood- We're all English teachers here. We know what your sentence means. Now if you want to say that you made a poor choice of words and believe that there is only one kind of fan- loyal and true, fine. But don't get upset that your own sentence states that you believe in two kinds of fans, loyal and not.

And guess what, people can have a difference of opinion over this and not call the other person stupid. Some people can think there's many kinds of fans, some people can only think there's "true fans". That's okay.

It's "ROOT, ROOT, ROOT for the home team."

There's no room for equivocation when it comes to being a fan, short for fanatic.

Being an English teacher is no excuse for your lack of understanding. Elementary school kids know what it means to be a fan.

Dude, its sports. Theres lots of different fans out there. Sorry but anyone who is a real sports afficianado knows this. Youve got fantasy football guy who gnashes his teeth as his own team holds his RB to 36 yards rushing on 14 carries and forces a fumble. You've got EPL fans of Championship teams who also choose one of the Big 5 to cheer for. In Detroit, being. Lions fans, everyone had their B-team to cheer to win the Super Bowl. You've got fans of specific players or coaches or systems. Youve got players that used to play College ball in state who come back as pros for a visiting team and get big cheers. Youve got fan favorite players who get traded away by mgmt. and when they come back they get standing ovations from the crowd and management gets booed. You've got GMs that management refuses to fire and fans chant for them to be fired and cheer for the other team because they are so disgusted.

Again, saying there is only one kind of fan out there is like saying "You're only a patriot if you support George W. Bush." You can be a patriot and support Bush. You can be a patriot and be against him. You can be a patriot and support some, but not all of his policies. Same with a fan.

Do you even follow sports hardcore atwood? Your definition is fine. But its not the only one. Its just one facet in the sports jewel.

"There's only one definition of fan-my definition." Who the heck thinks like that?

You're describing, not defining. Grab a dictionary, boy, and learn something.

Steelrails seems to be really upset about the hiring of a foreign coach.
