				| OK, before I call my manager and freak out... I just spoke with the NPS people and my school is announcing my pay as 1,989,000 instead of 2.3. The representative I spoke with said this based on my annual average income.
But, my salary is the same every month, so why should there be an average?

Is there something I'm missing here? The worker didn't seem very helpful to say the least.

Ask your boss about it before you friek out. If he were going to rip you off, I'd think he'd report your salary as being much less. Me thinks, it might be your salary after deductions. It could be the way they do it or it could be an honest mistake. Taxes, pension, health care deductions are usually what of your salary?

The average is because some people do overtime and that is 'supposed' to be included in that percentage.

Same goes for your severance payment. It's 'supposed' to be the average of your last three months of employment. So if you do a lot of overtime the last three months of your contract, your severance should be more than your monthly salary.
