Yeah, why live in Korea if you have to work a 40-60 hour/week job like back home? Rolling Eyes

It's simply not worth the worthless toilet paper (Korean Won) they're paying.

Poly pays well and on time, but they will bust your balls for every 10 won.

And as I've said numerous times on this board, I've had a very positive experience (going on 1.5 years now) with POLY. Same is true for my wife and the majority of our co-workers at our campus. PM me if you'd like more specific details.

I was offered a position at the Sungdong campus of Poly and was hoping someone could help shed a little light on this school. From what I've read, I'm more than a little nervous about taking the position, despite the fact that the money is better than any other teaching gig that's come my way out of Seoul. The hours seem a bit long (9a-7p; 7.5 teaching hours per day M-F) though.

Also, any info about Sungdong district would be appreciated too.

I quoted the post above as I do not yet have the requisite number of posts to PM, which is a bummer. I'd love to hear the positives about Poly though that's probablt just wishful thinking on my part, haha.

I wouldn't touch a Poly's job with someone else's 10-foot pole, but that is just me.

Interviewing with POLY Mokdong MAGNET campus soon. (Not a returnee or general poly school.)

Anyone have any feedback on the general atmosphere of this particular branch? A lot of the teachers have been there for 2-3 years.

I may be mistaken, but I think at the Magnet campus you teach one class the whole day. So you might be the reading teacher, while somebody else is the science teacher, etc. If you don't mind teaching nothing but one class everyday then it could work for you. Ask though, as it may not be that campus that does it.
