How much is a Masters worth to you? How much are you willing to pay?

Well, we need some more information from you. Are you looking for the absolutely cheapest online Masters or a mix of value and quality? Also, it would help if you defined a budget. My first question is very serious: how much are you willing to pay for an online MA?

I looked into one through my alma mater and it ran $5,000. I was hoping to find one for half that. I have some college teaching jobs lined up and the only requirement holding me back is a master's. The lady I spoke to wasn't too concerned about where it came from. Just that I had one.

Maybe 5k is a good deal. I don't know. What say you?

$100 gets you one from the U of Photoshop.

US$5k for a legitimate MA/M.Ed is dirt cheap.
US$5k is usually from some uncredited US uni (read - diploma mill).

Legitimate on-line Master's programs will take you 18-36 months and costs will typically be north of US$15k+ PLUS your thesis or costs for the comprehensive exams.

Exactly! A master's is NOT an advanced CELTA diploma. It's a university-level degree program.

This is what a legitimate online master's looks like:

The tuition for this program is $545/credit hour (so $545 x 30) which, give or take $100, is pretty much what you can expect for a U.S.-based online program. Perhaps others can point you to cheaper options outside the U.S.

5k is a very good deal in terms of price. Can you post a link to the program here?
