Jeonju University is striving to become a "Glocal University," a term formed by the combination of 'global' and 'local,' by making the best use of its global network with a number of foreign universities and regional characteristics.

Ryukoku University has started as its vision at the beginning of the 21st century, to become a "Glocal University seeking Symbiosis Harmony" With such social conditions and our ideals as a university, we declare "Glocal University" as the vision of our university.

Waseda University, targeting its 125th anniversary with 'realization of a glocal university' as its main concept, seeks to become an 'open university challenging the 21st century' that will enhance the qualities of its schools and graduate schools and build a strong network of teachers and researchers.

" ' Womans' represents the university's foundation with just one student ;it further symbolizes its high respect for the individuality of her wonderful women. Therefore Ewha is not a ' Womens' university but ' Womans', keeping each woman's distinctive being intact in its name. "
Arrow quotation from the university website: http://www.ewha.ac.kr/ewhaeng/

How many mistakes can you find in the above quotation?

Ewha Womans University is a highly ranked university, right?

Many Ewha women rule out motherhood
A third of the students at Ewha Womans University, a top women's school, said they would be unwilling to have a baby, a campus newspaper at the university said yesterday.

Professor Diverts Research Funds
According to the Korea Research Foundation, it discovered a woman professor of the education college at Ewha Womans University misappropriated about 17 million won of research funds supported by the government. The professor falsely registered one of her students, who was studying abroad at the time, as a fulltime researcher working at her laboratory. This was done while conducting a study for which the government annually provides 100 million won since September of last year. She has diverted about 9.8 million won among the monthly salary of 1-2 million won offered to the student, the foundation said. The 60-year-old professor, whose name was not released, has also reportedly taken 200,000 won every month among 300,000 won of salaries the government paid on bank accounts of another two graduate students of hers.

Alleged bribery probed in Ewha sports department
On Sunday, a professor of sports science at the university, identified only as Mr. Lee, was arrested on evidence showing that he had received several luxury handbags, one or more of which contained 50 million won ($42,700), and liquor, among other items, from a parent of a college applicant in return for giving high scores on a physical exercise examination. An official of the prosecutor's office said, "We will look into whether a professor of the university, Mr. Lee, who has already been arrested along with a parent, Mr. Kim, has given away any part of the 50 million won to other professors." An investigation revealed that Mr. Kim's daughter received high points from Mr. Lee during the physical exam, which enabled her to be accepted to the university.

10 men among 21,000 women
There are 21,000 women enrolled at Ewha Womans University -- and 10 men. Most guys would love those odds. But some of the men of Ewha, who are too few to have their own dorm or even fill a pin-up calendar, say they find the 2,100:1 ratio disconcerting. "Everywhere you go, you see only girls," says Park Jung-dae, 25, a native Korean whose parents emigrated to the United States two decades ago.
