Just want to make sure before purchasing, are 2 way radios in Korea legal and do north american 2 way radios (ie. Midland, Motorola, Cobra, etc.) work if I brought them or does Korea have have a different system that only korean brands or 2 way radios made for korea would work? |

Yep- they are totally legal. All the gangsters who work around the giant "business club" circuit near Seoul Station/Hilton Casino use them for all kinds of purposes.
I had a few shoo me away after I tried to get a love motel in the area after crushing it at the casino all night before school the next day. Hard to argue with those guys. Some of the ladies did invite me into the business clubs, but the motels seemed reserved for extorting higher-paying Korean customers.
They all used 2 way radios instead of phones, which I thought was odd, but I'm sure they had their gangster reasons. |
