eat spicy food or use chopsticks well? How about if you don't particularly like K-pop or any pop music for that matter?

Very Happy

Thanks for the response. Were you being sarcastic, maybe?

I was asking for a friend. I'm perfectly capable of eating my Shin ramyun with chopsticks, but I wasn't sure if others are as adept.

Can you use metal chopsticks proficiently, DBB? They are more difficult, no?

For goodness sakes its using chopsticks, not rocket science. A few hours of dedicated practice and you can learn it.

Most restaurants will give you a fork if you ask for it. A lot of them will automatically give you a fork just because they assume that foreigners can't use chopsticks.

Metal chopsticks might be a little more difficult to use than the disposable wood/bamboo variety simply because they are smoother, but it's not a big difference. "Your friend" will adapt.

This. If you don't learn within your first month or so it's really inexcusable.

As for spicy food: anyone can (and should) learn to eat it. Just take baby steps. Don't be like my aunt who tears up at the sight of cocktail sauce.

1. I survived korea quite fine and I hate k-pop.
2. Korean food isn't even particularly spicy, contrary to what so many Koreans believe.
3. Practice makes perfect, at least when it comes to chopstick proficency.

Yes and no. Is it Indian/Szechuan/Indonesian/northern Thai level burn your face off spicy? No. But for a Westerner who has never messed with spicy food - of which there are many - some of it can be pretty damn spicy. I remember awhile back in the States I saw someone order bibimbap and then request that the bibim be removed after receiving it.
