We are a newly retired couple now looking to do some teaching in South Korea. We need to know the first steps in this process. Thank you

1) look at job boards.
2) get a certified true copy of your degree made and have it apostilled.
3) apply for your police check and get an apostille on it.
4) apply for jobs.
5) get job, get contract, begin the visa application process.

Expect age resistance. Not insurmountable but theres a definite bias against older new hires in Korea.

You'll likely have to be more patient than younger job-hunters & more flexible in terms of less-sought locations (ie more rural). Not to suggest smaller town living cant be fulfilling.

Play up anything in your applications that suggests a younger-thinking mindset. Interest in physical activities, travel experience, good health, recent experience with kids, etc. Age-flattering photos will also help.

Others will suggest you'll have better odds finding work in China or elsewhere in SE Asia.
