| I have two stops before arriving to Seoul, and one of them has a layover time of 11 hours. I'm just wondering if anyone's done this before? I'm unsure if they'll close the gates and ask me to leave...? I definitely don't want to do this, but my recruiter said the other flight is more than $1400 and the school can't (or won't) pay it. |

| Well, depends on the hours and the airport. Is it an overnight layover of 11 hours? |

Yes. I asked my recruiter, but she was really blasé about it. She said she wasn't sure, but that was basically my only option.... |

A school cheap-ing out on airfare isn't a good sign. Two stops is reasonable. An 11 hour layover is cheap-ing out. |

If your layover is stateside then oops... you might be left on the curb for 8 hours (or in the case of LAX or SFX, sleeping on an unpadded bench with damned little open in the quiet hours). There might be a motel6 close by.
If your layover is at Narita, there goes your $400 savings but the glitz and glam are interesting.
If your layover is in someplace like Dubai then it will be interesting if not tiring. Hope they put you on the 380 for at least one if not both transcontinental legs of the flight. At least you will have some legroom.

| Hahaha, the layover is in San Francisco, so yes, I realize that could cut my budget greatly (that being said, the budget has gone up to $700 thanks to my sister). I'm prepared to go hungry for a bit, though. I emailed her another flight that's a whole $50 over budget, but the idea of spending 11 hours at an airport, alone, overnight doesn't sit well with me, and I agree that it's not a good sign. |

That airport is awful. Like third world quality awful. With next to no benches even. Honestly, give a shout out on Couchsurfers and see if a kind soul will take you in. There should be a last minute requests group where you can explain yourself. Here in Atlanta there is an older couple that will always go pick up people in need, feed them, give them a bed for the evening, and take them to the airport the next day (and this is Atlanta!). I'd imagine San Francisco has some serious Couchsurfer participation, so I bet you can find something. |

What? Round trip or one way? Round trip you're happy if you get less than $1,400. |

One way
Is this a horrible sign? It's two stops, and then a layover time of 11 hours overnight. I don't know if I should just accept. |
