I'm not from Toronto, but I'd vote for Ford. Not because I like him, I do find him amusing. What I see is a regular guy with all his faults going up against a bunch of elitist politicians. They think they are better than him, and it's noticeable. And to think, without their think-tank connections, they'd be like most athletes that couldn't make it to the 'bigs', pumping gas at the local gas station. |

One thing I admire about Ford is his ability to handle reporters. I especially liked how he denied wanting to eat some woman's *beep*.

This shows the superiority of the Canadian political system. They can say stuff that no politicians elsewhere would have the courage to say. |

What are Ford's substantive accomplishments for regular people against elitist politicians? |

Nothing really, and doesn't matter, and a lot of people are like me and would vote for him AGAIN (if I were a Toronto resident), because he is just seen as a regular guy that makes mistakes. Also, I think the fact it's a city election, not a national election, that also helps him a lot. I doubt a guy like him would come anywhere close to a premiership, or becoming someone prominent federally.
The higher level election, the more people take it seriously. I don't know what Chow was thinking leaving her cushy federal position to take a run at being mayor. I think Rob's brother has a good chance of winning it. |

I agree. Doug Ford has a very good shot at winning. As for Chow I also agree she was foolish for leaving that cushy job in Ottawa. I respect Chow and her late husband, but she isn't Jack. |
