if I'm understanding the article correctly, it's more likely that she was arrested for assault.

The Times reported that a woman whose case is being investigated by authorities - but has not yet been interviewed - was arrested after tackling a man she says groomed her when she was 15.

(Italics mine)
It doesn't matter what someone did to you in the past. If you go up to them on the street and "tackle" them, without immediate provocation, you can be arrested for assault.
Otherwise, anyone would be able to beat up anyone on the street, and then claim that it was okay because that person did something bad to them in the past. |

She was arresed "on suspicion of racially aggravated public order offences." |
In other words, one of the Pakistani men mentioned the word 'racist,' and six police officers turned up to forcibly arrest a 16-year old girl. |

No. There were four police officers. An Irishman, a Scotsman, a LBGT and A Hindu officer (plus a fifth person, who was measuring 'equality')
All four officers were morbidly obese, and unable to run more than 40m without stopping.
Three of them are dyslexic, so the fourth officer writes up all of the witness statements (in hindi), which are later translated at the station by a third party. |

Point taken. I had missed that the first time I read the article.
Still, though, assuming that "tackle" means some sort of physical assault, it's quite probable that there would have been charges laid anyway, with or without the racism rap. I think the the Daily Mail was likely being deliberately ambiguous in holidng back the details of what took place. |
