I am barely into a one year E-7 contact.
Suddenly, this contract doesn't look as good as it did (managements tune changed a bit), and another E-7 job opportunity just came along which looks better.
How difficult is it from an immigration point of view to break one E-7 to get another? Would it be as easy as leaving the country, turning in the ARC, coming back and making a new visa? (there have never been any CRC requirement checks for my previous E-7's, so I think paperwork is not an issue.).
Or would immigration not let me get another E-7 after breaking a contract?
The new position would be with a government branch (Hydroelectric Power company training).

This ISN'T home and changing jobs is not as simple as a walk across the street.

IF your soon to be former employer gives their blessing then it is pretty smooth:

Permission to change employers (letter from former employer to immigration)
ARC
passport
new contract
application
fees
new employer's sponsorship form
new employer's proof that a Korean can't do the job (labor impact)
new employer's business registration.

If your soon to be former employer does not give his approval then rough waters will probably lie ahead.

If you are LUCKY a simple exit, turn in the ARC and re-enter as a tourist MAY clear it allowing you to proceed with a new visa application. This will entail a 2nd run to Japan to get the new visa (1st was to cancel and clear your old visa).

IF you are unlucky (and the former employer makes a fuss at immigration over it) then immigration can (and often does) deny a new employment visa until your prior contract period expires.
