If you want to see positive news articles posted about Korea, then show me positive change.

I read this article and thought as I have so many times before, it's about damn time Korea is catching up with the rest of the world.

The fact that Korea is finally going to consider child abuse a crime instead of just discipline speaks volumes. It is illustrative of the general problems of Korea:
1) Why the hell do they take so long to adopt standards that have long ago been adopted in more 'civilized' nations?
2) Why do Korea apologists defend Korea till their last breath but then Koreans themselves turn around and admit their own faults and (occasionally) take actions to bring themselves more into the 'civilized' (non-barbaric) world?

You are missing the point cmxc. Are you just posting these articles with no purpose other than to flame Korea? Are you posting these articles because you want to help promote change in Korea? It just looks like the only purpose you have in posting these articles is to make people hate Korea.

People from other countries have no right to condemn and look down upon Korea because other countries have faced the same or similar "barbaric behavior within the last century. So, instead of just inciting hatred of Korea, why not try to promote change in a positive way?

Why the hell do you even care so much? You must have better things to do with your time then obsess over the shitty aspects of a country you don't need to be in.

So braniac, you want barbaric Korea to catch up with the civilized world?
In USA, abuse and neglect is the number 1 cause of injury to children in the country. More children die of abuse or neglect than of natural causes.

The US and the rest of the modern Western world take child-abuse extremely seriously. The US considers it a very severe crime and dishes out very severe punishments. Because the US considers it such a major crime, it tracks the statistics very carefully and publishes such statistics in a transparent manner.

Korea has not considered child abuse to be a crime!!! Of course they haven't been tracking child abuse statistics because until now, it was considered normal!!

That child abuse abounds the world over does not change the fact that it is a severe crime and deserves the harshest of punishments. The US is not perfect by any stretch of the imagination, but it does take many steps to protect American children. Korea is woefully behind in this regard, and I welcome the beginnings of it catching up with the rest of the civilized world.

Bashers in general have a very negative outlook on life.

Just let them be.

If you really want to annoy them, do post a positive article about Korea and see how quickly they foam at the mouth.

They're calling card: "hey guys! look! bad things happen in korea too! don't you dare post anything positive because...well...Korea is the only country where bad mean things happen!"

When people tell them to leave if they don't like it, they then reply with the same tired mantra of how they can hate many things here yet still enjoy many other things...yet somehow posting about things people enjoy/can enjoy here is being dishonest. lol.

There's no statistics in Korea?

You are making things up. Or you don't know how to use the internet.
Or, you are making things up AND you don't know how to use the internet.

I wonder what will be considered child-abuse? Will forcing a kid to practice 10 hours at the golf range be? There goes all of Korea's world-class women golfers.

Did you even read your own article? Child abuse was already a crime with a potential felony-level sentence in Korea. They just made the sentences stiffer.

If you want to bash, fine. But dont spout off blatant factual errors and dont draw conclusions off of the first few sentences if a poorly written article.

You are being redundant.
Your words of wisdom suggesting I condone or justify child abuse is repulsive.
