The 10 WORST cities in the world to go on holiday revealed
Brisbane, Australia, developed very quickly - and with poor city planning - resulting in a city of ugly skyscrapers and expressways
In Guatemala City, the fume-filled capital of Guatemala, buildings look on the verge of collapse
Hemel Hempstead in Hertfordshire was voted the ugliest town in Britain
Guayaquil, Ecuador claims to be one of the country's 'economic powerhouses' and is complete with loads of concrete and pollution
The capital city of the Solomon Islands, Honiara, is anything but idyllic. The beach is mediocre and the architecture unsightly
Bangui in the Central African Republic has almost non-existent roads and infrastructure
The overcrowded city of Sao Paulo, Brazil regularly experiences massive traffic jams, as well as flooding and blackouts
Houston, Texas, may be the fourth largest city (by population) in the United States, but its cityscape has no formal zoning regulations
The slums of Bossaso, Somalia are rampant with piracy, drug smuggling and people-trafficking
Traffic in Tijuana, Mexico, home to the busiest border crossing with the US, is an absolute nightmare
In the densely populated socialist-capitalist town of Huaxi Village, China, all 300 families live in identical houses
Papua New Guinea's capital city, Port Moresby, is known for its lawlessness and frequent gun battles
The desolate urban sprawl of downtown Detroit, Michigan, is anything but appealing
The Caranavi province in Bolivia is the epicentre of cocaine production
In Tegucigalpa, Honduras there is so much crime that residents and tourists alike are advised not to walk on the streets after dark

Ironically the only place in the article I've heard people going on holiday to is that ghost town near Chernobyl where they actually run tours. |

Tijuana isn't that bad. It's true that it is a pain in the ass to get back into the USA if you're driving a vehicle due to all the traffic, but other than that, it's all right. I wouldn't suggest going out your way to check it out, but compared to many other places, it's fine. Plus head south along the coast, and you will soon have some nice scenery with a lot fewer people than you'll find along the southern California coast...
I agree with Guatemala City though. Dirty, polluted, bad traffic, high crime, and nothing of value to see (at least that I'm aware of). Rest of the country is pretty cool at least. |

Big blocky city. Ugly skyline (when u can see it). Ugly people, mean and nasty ( I saw many fistfights over taxi cabs, many people hoark-spitting-even pretty girls) Huge herds of people...massive crowds. I spent a day in a hotel downtown on a rainy day. Watched the window, didnt see a let up in crowds walking by whether it was 3 am or 3 pm! Crazy amount of people.
Just a dull, grey, smelly, crowded place full of hate filled people. Mumbai at least had colour (and live animals running around) Beijing has grey colourless....and the food was greasy...even the rice !! |
