I guess people complaining about things all the time here as backfired on them. Be ready to pay a lot more for your next cellphone thanks to Park Geun-hye and her administration. Before you could get really good discounts depending on which cellphone shop you went to. The reason being that there was so much competition between the individual cellphone shops.

However, some people complained about it though, saying that one store charged x amount while another charged less. In my opinion, that just your own fault for not shopping around first before buying. Well, now that enough people complained about the practice, all cellphone shops will have to charge the same amount for the phone.

I guess the only good thing about it is that there may be less cellphone shops now.

That isn't what the article said to me. Maybe I missed something but it seemed like a good change.

2(24 month) Year instead of 3 year (36 month) contracts. The subsidy vaue/cap is set to 300,000W which is an increase.

Plus an addtional option of 15% subsidy if the carrier so chooses.

It also cracks down on lying to a customer that they can easily switch their expensive 100kW/month plan to a cheaper one after 3 months which is often a lie.

All these changes will only work to bring down phone prices and monthly plan costs.

Experience tells a different story. My wife's brother went to get a new phone recently, and the price he was quoted was a lot higher than before. I don't know the whole story, but the wife says that many Koreans are complaining that the price of phones has risen because of this act.

What's all this about? I believe I got 250k off my phone just fore renewing with the same provider. But that was back in July.

Just goes to show that people complain and when they get what they want, they still complain. People just like complaining.
