Some people went home and failed, some are getting by....but even if you make less it must be nice to speak English and not deal with ajossis, people asking where yourefrom etc...that counts for something im sure

Yeah but 'back home' you have to put up with idiots in the elevator saying "how's it going?", and checkout girls asking "how's your day?" and waiters interrupting your meal constantly to prove how much customer service they are providing (begging for tips). Just kill me now!

I much prefer the land of high IQs, excellent customer service, and no pointless chit chat.

I'm here in Canada, but my family go to a Korean church. There are Koreans that moved here, and only run a convenience stores say. There must be a reason they left Korea though - I'd guess it's for the kids. I don't think they made a step up in wealth or career moving to Canada. There is a quality of life here that even a poor person has that isn't matched in Korea.

I realized after moving here how much my life in Korea was just about making money. But when you're here you see people enjoying their life, and money isn't the main focus of their life. In Korea it seemed to be the main focus.

Right, in much of the States and Canada you can rent a house or a townhouse for less than you would pay for a small, four bedroom apartment in Korea, and it will often be just as central to restaurants, bars, and grocery stores as an apartment in a Korean suburb would be. On top of that, they can have a 2006 Benz parked in front, whereas in Korea they wouldn't even be able to afford a used Genesis.
