Are you from the future? Your car hasn't been made yet.

It started production earlier this year. I got mine as a graduation gift

Dude you're from Harvard, have a new Vette, and you want to teach ABCs to Asian kids and bow to drunk ajossis???
Korea is not what you're imagining man.
If you want Asian girls, go to any college campus and roll through in your Vette!

Btw..
To those saying hes a troll, I doubt it.
I have met several ivy leaguers in the past few years and most, if not all, were supreme d-bag rich kids. About as immature as this guy. Par for the course, in my experience.

Is it true that gas is cheaper in Japan than in Korea? Someone at work told me it was a dollar or more in Korea.

If you're not a troll and are as rich as you say you are, you should look into getting a "daily driver" car for getting around town and doing errands. Between the speed bumps, the traffic jams, and the tight spaces, driving a Vette or similar car would just be exhausting. Also, if you have any kind of mechanical issues, your car will probably be laid up for a good week or so because I doubt there are parts for it just lying around at any old shop. Something as basic as an oil change might take days and require a special appointment.

Time to think like a grownup.

Put the Corvette in storage or sell it and buy a newer model one when you go back. Just buy a Korean car. If it's gets banged or dented then who cares? Domestic Korean cars are much cheaper for parts and repairs. Just buy a Sonota or something while your're here. It isn't worth the hassle. Fuel is more expensive. If you are in a major city and can walk to work, do so. Avoid driving as it will stress and frustrate you out. It is nothing like North America and it really takes a couple of years or more to get use to. Until then, you may feel the urge to scream at people and come close to getting into fistfights with people. The rules are similiar in the handbook, but different on the road.

Also, tint your windows if you can when you do buy a high car. Everyone does it to save face. If it's a bigger black more expensive car like a chairman or grandeur, they can drive as they please. The dinky avante or matiz has to give way because it's of lower status.

If you do buy a car here, get a used one and drive through the country on weekends, if it's theraputic and relaxing to you.

That said, if I were rich, it'd no mercedes or BMW, but a good old fshioned muscle car. A Ford Mustang would be enough for me. I'd be cruising with some AC DC, Metallica, or some Linkin Park cranked out the windows. None of this Gangnam Style crap! The old geysers will never know what strange sounds knocked them over. Ha ha.

(Sometimes, I do this anyhow, even if my car ain't no sexy muscle muscle car. Just an LPG cheap gas guzzling thing a ma jig. Lol.)

Again, leave the car at home in proper storage. You'll only be here for a year and having that car here will only be a pain in the arse. Besides, if you're working for a prep school or hagwon, odds are you won't have the time to enjoy it, anyway, at least not the way it should be enjoyed.

And just a tip: IF people ask you where you went to school, just tell them Harvard. Nothing makes someone come off as a bigger wanker than addind the word 'actually'. Where did you go to school? Harvard, actually. Cringe. Only suggesting this because I've heard one too many Ivy wankers answer in this way, and it presupposes that the listener will be surprised and/or impressed. Again, cringe city.

The Vete will not pass the noise test in Korea anyway....if it was already here there are ways around it, but a new import will not happen.

Was there in the summer and the prices I saw was around 150-yen/l. Which is about 300-won cheaper. Prices in Korea being in that 1700/1800-won/l range.
