Better for it to go there from the correct spot than to come spewing from my mouth and go over other people.
You are absolutely amazing. While the comment was a bit ambiguous about it, the obvious implication was that they were pointing out that there was no comparison made between SKY & IVY. There was only a comparison of relationships in an analogy. Probably because all(most?) analogies are comparisons, not all comparisons are analogies. So for simplicity sake they referred to your mistake as a comparison because it was only that and my original point as an analogy because it was also that.
If you teach your students to read everything so literally and not look at the context you'll have a lot of Band 7 or 80-90 score students who may or may not have an issue with their achievements. Context is very important, so is politeness. |
