Hasn't the west gone from acceptance to preference of gays?

The "Gay Pride" movement seems funny. I never heard of "Straight Pride."

If someone said "I'm gay", I'd be like "I don't care", not "I'm proud of you." But I'd bet some human resources directors would be upset if you didn't jump for joy that your co-worker was gay.

Have you ever spoken to a gay person about this?

Straight people weren't physically and mentally abused, discriminated against, and shamed into hiding because of their sexuality.
"Gay pride" is about no longer being ashamed to be homosexual. To be proud of who they are and to be able to walk the streets with their heads held high.
They don't want you to be proud of them, they just want you to treat them like everyone else.
